Review & Swatch: OPI Nutcracker and The Four Realms Collection*

This Holiday Season, OPI has released its limited edition Nutcracker and The Four Realms collection, that features 12 shades and 3 additional glitter top coats.  I have these babies all swatched in this blog post below, and will also let you know how many coats are needed to achieve full opacity! To learn more about these babies, then keep on reading below!

Tinker, Thinker, Winker? - a beautiful holo nail polish that is a must-own! The swatch above is two coats, but for true opacity I think three would be required. This is honestly a must buy! the swatch you see does not do it justice

Dancing Keeps Me On My Toes - a pearlescent white polish - what you see is two coats.

Lavendare To Find Courage - a lilac pink that honestly could have been good enough with one coat, but I used two to make sure I got full coverage.

Dreams Need Clara-fication - two coats gave me full opacity for this powder blue polish.

Toying with Trouble - I could have gotten away with one coat, it's that good. However, again I used two coats for the swatch photo. This is a color I would use year round (especially for a pedicure for a getaway to a tropical paradise). This is one of those must-have fuschia flamingo pinks!

Candied Kingdom - A classic holiday red - This was with one coat.

Ginger's Revenge - A dark burgundy red - I found that the brush for this polish was a bit thiner in width than the others? on the fourth nail, you can see it looks a bit jagged near the cuticle. This is two coats.

Envy the Adventure - A beautiful Forest Green with two coats here.

March In Uniform - A Dark Blue Polish that is so rich in color it looks almost black in some angles - it's great that this was achieved with only two coats.

Berry Fairy Fun - a fuschia shimmer polish with even smaller shimmer reflects within, here I have two coats on, you can use one for a sheer finish that is almost jelly like.

Black to Reality - This is a very unique shade that seems dark burgundy brown in one angle but then shifts to a copper red finish in others. This is two coats.

Dazzling Dew Drop - suffered a casualty during shipment and the neck of the bottle snapped off and leaked the entire bottle of polish all over my other bottles so I apologize in advance for not being able to swatch this. I'm sure you can find a swatch of this if you did a search on the trusty internet! This shade is a true gold shimmer - from what I have read, you need three coats to achieve full opacity.

Dreams On a Silver Platter - contains big flecks of silver glitter mixed with small micro flecks of gold - love this combo!

I Pull The Strings - a true rose gold shimmer with big and small flakes.

Gold Key To The Kingdom - a top coat featuring big and small flecks of gold glitter.

Of the entire collection, I would recommend the following:
Dreams On a Silver Platter
Tinker, Thinker, Winker?
Envy the Adventure
Black to Reality and March in Uniform.
I think that those are the most unique shades that I haven't really seen before, and perform well for me. Which shades are your favorite?

Until next time, XO - M.

  1. I looove so much of this collection, good variety and very seasonally appropriate which I don't always fine with nail collections! If I didn't already have like, 150+ polishes I could see myself picking it up!
