Review, Swatch and Tutorial: YSL Gold Attraction Collection (Holiday 2018)*

YSL Beauty creates some gorgeous and luxurious makeup and they are known for how beautiful their products are. However, their limited edition collections are even more jaw dropping than their regular everyday items - I have written about some of them before and you can find it here. This time, I am bringing to you some items from their Holiday 2018 Collection, rightfully named Gold Attraction (as you can see from the photos in this post). The sleek black packaging makes the the gold glitter YSL Logo pop!

To see swatches of this collection and see what my thoughts are, then keep on reading below.

Below we have the Rouge Pur Couture Gold Attraction Edition Lipsticks, which comes in 7 shades. When you order these from their website, you can actually get them engraved as well as an added personalized touch to either yourself or to the recipient. You only need ONE swipe to deliver rich and opaque color to your lips. It is not patchy, it is comfortable and hydrating and just feels luxurious. The swatches you see in the below pics are done with one swipe (the ones on the arm and the lips in the look).

From left to right, we have 09 (Rose Stiletto), 52 (Rouge Rose) and 01 (Le Rouge).

To start, the twist up bi-color highlighter in a creamy stick form. It has a light champagne color on one side and a darker bronze highlight on the other, when mixed together you get a perfect light beige bronze that makes you look lit from within. I like to just pat this on the cheekbones to give myself a healthy glow that looks natural (as seen in the lip swatch photos above). If you wanted to make it pop more, you can always layer it with a powder highlighter.

Next, the Touche Eclat is the same as their regular formula, just housed in their holiday packaging. Alot of people confuse this as a concealer, however it is not to be used as one. This is actually a liquid highlighter that helps to add a touch of light to areas you want, getting rid of shadows on the face or areas you just want to brighten up. Click the end of the pen, and just apply to areas you want and pat out with a finger or a small brush. In the lip swatch photo above, I applied this in my t-zone and nose.

Lastly, we have the Gold Attraction Edition Makeup Palette, that contains products for the face (which means you can take this on the go with you and not carry separate individual items). This palette features a silver eyeliner, three unique eyeshadows - shiny gold, iridescent beige and a pearly back. It also contains two blushes and a cream highlighter. In the lip swatch photo above, I used this palette to create the look, however I used the palette in a different way - which means you can also use this however you choose! I applied the pearly black (cream shadow) all over the lid, and patted the silver on the middle of the lid to make it pop. The other to shadows - the gold and beige one are powder formulations. The pigmentation of the products in this palette are A+, which honestly is very hard to come by I find now (especially with more luxe brands as well), so big applause to YSL!

If you were to ask me which products I would recommend from this collection, hands down it would be the lipsticks - just look at the swatches above! Next would be the face and eyeshadow palette.

Until next time, XO - M.
