Eminence Organic Skincare Review*

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

I was recently sent a few products from Eminence Organic Skin Care, available here. They have an extensive range of products and these four are a preview of the delectable collection of products they offer. Upon doing further research into the company and what other products they have - I noticed a common theme in everything - FRUIT! Pear and green apple sugar scrub, lemon cleanser, cranberry pomegranate sugar scrub, raspberry pore refining mask and so forth... actually, after trying these four products out, I am interested in trying out more items.

What I was sent is actually an entire skin regiment, a cleanser, exfoliator, hydrating mist and serum.

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

Step 1: Purify and Tone with Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces
This cleanser contains antioxidant-rich acai berries that are perfect for revitalizing your skin's texture. The cream cleanser is filled with vitamins and antioxidants to improve your skin tone. It also includes hyaluronic acid (my favorite) to deeply hydrate and seabuckthorn oil to help make your skin more smooth and supple.

Thoughts: I really liked this product. While it wasn't immediately effective in removing eyeliner and mascara from my face (that can be easily remedied with a micellar water or make-up wipe), I really liked how hydrated my skin felt after use. It did feel plumped and moisturized and the faint smell of berries is a bonus!

Step 2: Exfoliate and Smooth your skin with the Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces
I was really hoping that this would literally smell like Strawberry and Rhubarb, however, it didn't :( It had a very very faint scent of something sweet but I can't really pinpoint what. If you love coarser exfoliators, then this is not for you. This is a very mild exfoliator as it is made with natural ingredients. It contains rice powder and chickpea flour to absorb oil, tighten pores and gently buff your skin and rid the dead skin cells. It also contains salicylic acid sourced from strawberries to assist in the above mentioned items.

Thoughts: I must say I wasn't too big of a fan of this, I enjoy a coarser exoliator and I just felt like this didn't really do anything for me. In addition, It was very hard to get a perfect balance of the paste texture as if it was too watery, it wouldn't work and if it's too thick it just ... still wasn't coarse enough. This would be a pass for me.

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

Step 3: Tighten and Regenerate with Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces.
This collagen boosting toner contains Natural Retinol Alternative Complex that tightens skin to give a more lifted appearance. Swiss Green Apple Stem Cells rejuvenate and maintain the look of skin's elasticity, regenerating and strengthening cells. Neroli Oil serves as a fragrant antiseptic that refreshes and hydrates your skin. Finally, an added boost from coconut milk provides extra hydration while balancing the pH levels.

Thoughts: I LOVE this! While I cannot smell all the separate notes mentioned above, i.e. the green apple, coconut milk etc - this was still a fantastic product. My face simply glowed afterwards and was plump and hydrated. This is my favorite item out of the four.

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

Lastly, Step 4: Moisturize and protect with the Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces.
This hydrating gel deeply penetrates your skin to soothe and heal your skin, especially if you have a dry complexion. This serum is packed with vitamins and nutrients, there is also cactus juice to deliver instant moisture and leaves your skin with a smooth matte finish. Antioxidant-rich green tea and bearberry extract reduces the signs of aging and sun spots, while also protecting you against cell damage.

Thoughts: Again, I really liked this product - it absorbed so quickly into my skin and left it very smooth. I was able to apply primer on right after and then foundation. It kept my oil at bay and I saw it really work its magic after a few weeks of use.

Until next time, XO - M.

What's in my travel bag? Tips + Tricks to packing light

When I traveled earlier this year to the Dominican, I had considered writing a "what's in my travel beauty bag" post, however I never got around to it. This time, since I was travelling for work, I decided to write about my tips + tricks on packing for a short trip as well as what was in my beauty bag (plus this post came as a recommendation) !

I find that when you are travelling, it is a MUST to pack light. If I was going to pack everything I actually needed, I would need multiple suitcases. In order to narrow down to what I should actually bring, I find that it is the true determination as to what I really actually value/like. Think about it, I am only going to be using these few things for the next few days/week, it better hold up to my expectations. Therefore, I only pack the best of the best, the items that I know will never let me down and of course, I pack something neutral, nothing too colorful or crazy.

So here goes, the following are items that I have brought with me this time around:
What's in my travel bag? Tips + Tricks to packing light, Sample Packs, Travel Beauty Bag, Beauty Bag, Beauty Samples, Skincare Samples, Garnier, Verb, Cleansing Wipes, darphin, Clinique, Fresh, Dr. Brandt, Sephora, Makeup Brushes, Packing Light, Packing overnight bag, beauty blogger, beauty blog, canadian beauty blogger, canadian beauty blog, toronto, makeup, stila, urban decay, charlotte tilbury, marc jacobs role play, anastasia, tarte
1. Charlotte Tilbury - Third Edition Makeup Bag - LOVE this! It's SUPER spacious with a divider within as well.

2. Stila - Perfectly Poreless Putty Perfector* - To be honest, I really hope they never discontinue this product. It is such an innovative foundation, it feels like a putty and is totally travel friendly. You use the foam applicator pad inside to apply and even though no matter how much you swipe the product and you feel like you don't make a dent in the product, you actually have more than enough to give your face a flawless finish. It literally makes me look airbrushed and I just throw it in my purse for any touch-ups.

3. Urban Decay - Beached Bronzer  - gives you a natural glow without looking like an oompa-loompa!

4. Maybelline - Concealer - a good drugstore concealer that doesn't disappoint. Offers a medium coverage, but buildable and is a good match to my skintone.

5. Marc Jacobs - Roleplay - Picked this up recently at the VIB Rouge Sephora event. It's a natural and neutral lip color that gives a sheer wash of color and gives you that "my lips but better" moments.

6. Anastasia Brow Wiz - Chocolate - This is always reliable, I actually brought it because it was near the end of its life cycle and I could toss it while I was there.

7. Clio - Waterproof Pen Liner- You must try this liner! My sister in law picked this up for me from her trip to Asia, but I found it on amazon for approx $13. Cheaper than alot of other similar liners you can find at Sephora. Offers a fine brush tip as well as an ultra pigmented black line that is a matte finish. I will be repurchasing this for sure when this one is out!

8. Too Faced - Brow Quickie (Universal Brunette)* - This gives a slight lighter tint to the brow to set it once you're done drawing them on your face :) It doesn't give a hard or crusty finish so it looks very natural.

9. Stila - Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette* - This palette is perfect for me. The neutral eyeshadows as well as two blush colors. Compact and sleek, great for travelling.

10. Sephora Dual Ended Travel Makeup Brush Set* - I tried to find a link to this on the Sephora website, unfortunately it may be sold out, however! Fear not, Sephora always restocks or releases similar items throughout the year, just need to keep an eye out. I rarely gravitate towards double ended brushes, however when travelling, it makes alot of sense. Again with the compactness and sleekness it's good for travelling and packing light.

Below: Sample Packets of Skincare, Makeup Wipes & Haircare
This is the biggest tip I can offer - while alot of people may think very little of sample packets or actually end up using it right away at home, I strongly suggest that you save them all up because it all counts. Bringing packets or deluxe samples of face washes, skincare and haircare means that you can use it and toss it while you're travelling. You no longer have to lug any bottles back and forth :) If you are worried about a specific brand and do not want to carry an assortment, you can always visit your favorite beauty counter and ask for any specific sample packets to take with you.

With respect to makeup wipes, I picked up this pack from Winners. Simple and does the job - I use these to remove my makeup at the end of the day before I head to the shower.

What are some of your favorite items to take with you while you're travelling? Sometimes if it is an extended trip I like to pack a few face masks as well. Please share some of your packing tips + tricks as well! I'd love to hear all about them!

Tutorial & Review: Gosh Cosmetics - New Core Products*

Gosh Cosmetics new core products launching in shoppers drug mart september 2016, velvet touch matt lipsticks, primer plus skin perfector, contour n' strobe kit, #foundationdrops, 9 shades to be cool in copenhagen $20, forever matt eyeshadow stick $14, giant pro liner, beauty blogger, canadian beauty blogger, drugstore beauty, shoppers drug mart, canadian beauty, bbloggersca

GOSH Cosmetics has been stocked at Shoppers Drug Mart for a while now and though I have tried a few products here and there, this is my first time trying out the entire range and everything mentioned in this post are part of the new core products available starting this month. Keep on reading to see a makeup look featuring some of these items, as well as what products I would definitely recommend you to go and pick up.

The shades are all neutral in nature and range from soft nude and brown to grey and black tones. This is suitable for all skin tones and is perfume free.

Attached below are swatches from the palette as well as the liner, eye shadow stick and lipstick (on top). As you can see, they are pretty pigmented (especially the lighter shades), they are buttery and smooth. I think it's really worth the $20 - divided it is $2.22 a shadow - that's a steal!

The Forever Matt Eye Shadow Stick $14 is also divine, it is matte, buttery and pigmented - one swipe was enough to deliver the perfect amount of color. It is waterproof and does not need a brush. It is a twist up formula and does not require sharpening as well and is perfume free. Though this one is $14, I still think this is a good buy. It can be both a base color for shadow as well as a shadow on its own.

The Giant Pro Liner $16 - I need to go buy a backup right now. Seriously! It delivers a intense black color, and though the thick tip seems intimidating, it actually allows you to apply both thin (great for the wing) and for thick lines (liner on the rest of the lid). It is long lasting, lasts all day without smudging, yet it is easy to remove end of day.

This Contour N' Strobe Kit $32 in Light is an okay product. I'm not sure if it is worth the $32 only because I do not really believe that it does what it says - I mean it is a great highlighting and bronzer palette, but I can't contour with these colors - three of the four products have a highlight sheen to it. In addition, they say that it is a 4-in-1 product, you can highlight, blush, 2x contour - however the blush isn't pigmented enough to be a blush plus it's too shimmery - I would still use it as a highlighter. This palette is ultra soft, creamy and great to blend out - however again, if you are buying this to contour and use as a 4-in-1 I really would suggest that this might not completely satisfy you.

As for the images below, I decided to format my product shots differently - for me to effectively show you how a product works, I would do a before and after. The Primer Plus Skin Perfector $25 - reduces imperfections and achieves a healthy natural glow. It visibly evens skin tone with the peach toned primer formula and the pearl pigments gives you a beautiful glow. It provides your skin with moisture while delivering a great base for your foundation application. So yes, this is a good buy!

The #FoundationDrops $26 comes in 5 colors, which may be a bit difficult to cater to different skin tones (the light and dark tones may feel left out). However, if you can find the right color, you can see that with two thin layers, it offered great coverage. In addition, I just patted a bit extra and it worked well as a concealer. The foundation contains argan oil to hydrate and soften skin. I do enjoy this product, it lasted the day and while it didn't do anything amazing like helping me stay matte throughout the day (I have an oily T-Zone), as a drugstore higher priced foundation (and obviously cheaper than luxury stores) it did a fab job and I would repurchase this.

The Velvet Touch Matt lipstick $14 in Matte Cranberry is a matte finish formula that doesn't leave a dry finish to the lips. It is moisturizing and is enriched with natural bee, carnauba and candelilla wax. It also contains hyaluronic acid for fuller and even more hydrated lips. It is paraben free as well.

Lastly, the mascaras, YES! you must try - ugh I sound like such a paid for advertisement or something, but I'm not paid to say this. The mascara - is lovely! I have the shortest lashes and the Rebel Eyes Long Wear Volume Mascara $17 worked perfectly to curve my lashes, have them stay curled, not flake off or transfer to my bottom lash line, and also contains sea buckthorn seed oil to protect the lashes. As you can see in the before and after pictures, my lashes are actually visible and quite voluminous after the application. The Lash Sculpting Fibre Mascara $17 is also quite lovely as well - it contains Bladderwrack seaweed from the Danish Coast that delivers ultra-high levels of antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Overall, I highly recommend these products to you if you are looking for some new products to try at Shoppers Drug Mart. They are higher than most drugstore make-up items, however I find these to be higher in quality and more reliable. They have not let me down in delivery and I am willing to pay a bit more for products that work.

Until next time, XO - M.

My Skincare Routine for stressed out skin

My skin was absolutely freaking out on me the last few months due to the stress incurred from some stuff happening at work as well as the big move. I felt like I was hitting puberty all over again and was getting pimples popping out everywhere (so attractive eh?). Anyways - with some experimenting and trial and error, I have found several products that have helped me through this rough time and I thought that I would share it with you.

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask, Vichy Pore Purify Clay Mask, Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme, Indie Lee- Blemish Stick, Jouviance - Micelle Solution, The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit cleanser, Nip & Fab - Glycolic Scrub Fix, Vichy - Normaderm Purifying Lotion, Poetic Blend - The Hero Oil, Clinique - Pep- start hydroblur moisturizer, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, skincare, toronto blogger, toronto, canada, pimple care, problem skin solution,

P.S. Sorry about the lighting - I tried to adjust it as much as possible but I wanted to take the pictures in my bathroom :) Also, as an FYI, I have oily/combo skin during the summertime.

Everyday Skincare Routine:
1. Jouviance - Micelle Solution - effective at removing all traces of makeup on my face including waterproof eyeliner and mascara.

2. The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit cleanser - I discovered this at The Detox Market - it contains 2% salicylic which is great for combating problematic skin. The one thing though that truly bothered me is the fact that the pump is horribly constructed. The product within is amazing, but it almost congeals and becomes impossible to pump out until I press so hard on it and it bursts out from the nozzle. I would suggest that the packaging be reconsidered perhaps? blah.

3. Nip & Fab - Glycolic Scrub Fix - This scrub is AMAZING! It contains ultra packed with exfoliators that are fine, but you can still feel it on your face, polishing the dirt, dead skin cells and black pores away. It also contains salicylic acid and 3% glycolic acid to refine, brighten and renew.

4. Vichy - Normaderm Purifying Lotion - This is made for oily skin, to mattify it and help to tighten and unclog your pores.

5. Poetic Blend - The Hero Oil - I actually discovered this brand on Instagram and was delighted to know that it was made in Canada. This oil provides relief from inflammation and is ultra lightweight. It contains soothing and calming properties and promotes healing and repair - it's made with all natural and plant-based materials and is vegan friendly. I picked this up and the One of A Kind show, but you can definitely get it on their site - my best friend also bought one and she loved it.

6. Clinique - Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer - I love the non-greasy texture of this moisturizer and it also works to subtly "airbrush" your skin. If you use any of those silicone primers, you will know what I mean - it doesn't perfect your skin or fix the discoloration however, it just helps to blur out any of the large pores etc. I have been able to use this and take out primer on occasion and it does the work just fine :)

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask, Vichy Pore Purify Clay Mask, Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme, Indie Lee- Blemish Stick, Jouviance - Micelle Solution, The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit cleanser, Nip & Fab - Glycolic Scrub Fix, Vichy - Normaderm Purifying Lotion, Poetic Blend - The Hero Oil, Clinique - Pep- start hydroblur moisturizer, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, skincare, toronto blogger, toronto, canada, pimple care, problem skin solution,

Weekly Treatments:
1. Vichy - Double Glow Peel Mask - This product contains tons of Vitamin C, AHA and volcanic stone exfoliation. It is said to address any dullness in the skin and you only leave it on for 4-5 minutes tops. When applied, I actually feel a warm sensation and after I wash it off my face is plump and glowing.

2. Vichy - Pore Purifying Clay Mask - This one has replaced my other clay mask that I like, the one from Origins that I was using for the past few years. I actually see results right away with this, when I apply it on my problem areas (t-zones) it sucks all the gunk and oil out, and when I apply this over my acne pop-ups, it also dries it out. I keep it on for longer than required though, around 30 minutes :)

3. Nip & Fab - Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme - This is used 2-3 times a week and contains 5% glycolic acid, salycilic acid, hyaluronic acid and lactic acid to combat dullness, blackheads, pimples yet leaving your skin renewed and plump. This is a must buy!

4. Indie Lee - Blemish Stick - I have constantly recommended this to my friends and coworkers, it's a spot treatment that works right away and dries out your pimples. It contains..... as you can guess by the common theme by now, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, witch hazel and menthol. This is also a must-buy!

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask, Vichy Pore Purify Clay Mask, Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme, Indie Lee- Blemish Stick, Jouviance - Micelle Solution, The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit cleanser, Nip & Fab - Glycolic Scrub Fix, Vichy - Normaderm Purifying Lotion, Poetic Blend - The Hero Oil, Clinique - Pep- start hydroblur moisturizer, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, skincare, toronto blogger, toronto, canada, pimple care, problem skin solution,

I hope my skincare routine is able to help any of you out who may be having a similar skin issues as me!
Until next time, XO - M.

Lashes Layered to Pixi-Perfection*

Pixi Beauty is one of those brands that finally allowed us Canadians to get their hands on it when Target made its brief debut here. Unfortunately, when Target closed its stores, Pixi left with it :( Fear not though, I have heard that Pixi Beauty will be back and readily available to us again come January 2017 at Shoppers Drug Mart! YAY!!

I was recently sent this box of mascara goodies to review - the theme is "Lashes Layered to Pixi Perfection" - each mascara is catered for a different effect and can be used on its own or layered and paired with another. Attached below are pictures on each of the mascaras, my thoughts on them and whether I liked it.

Prime & Protect - The Black Lacquer Lash Primer: LOVE This! I always appreciate a black primer vs. a white one as it is just so much easier to apply and also hide when layering with another product. The wand bristles are made with that plastic/silicone material and has very fine bristles that offers good separation of the lashes. Though it may look wide in the picture below, it is also quite flat (as you can also see from the next pic). It's almost like a paddle.

Waterproof & Lift - The Lash Booster Mascara: Of all the mascara formulations, this one is my favorite. It gave me lift, curl and volume. It offers me separation as well. I have such tiny and short lashes so I don't expect any type of mascara to give me lashes that look like falsies. This one doesn't give me any spider-leg clumpy looking lashes, so I really do enjoy this. It also doesn't transfer to my bottom lash line.

Lengthen & Tint - Lengthy Fiber Mascara: I did not enjoy this product - The bristles on the wand are very prickly and are not of the silicone/plastic material but are literally like the brush material. The main deterrent of this product is the fact that the formula is really wet and thick. In addition, as it indicates in the lame, it contains lots of fiber pieces. You can see in the picture below that it is very jam packed with fibers. It actually gets a bit overwhelming during the application process and can easily have the spider leg effect.

Define & Details - Lower Lash Mascara: I have wanted to find a product that could help me coat my bottom lashes like I have seen countless of times on other beauty bloggers/You-Tubers. Unfortunately, my lashes are just so tiny and sparse that none can help. This product was only able to tint my lashes, but did nothing in terms of adding any volume or length. Therefore, I am torn on whether I would repurchase this?

Regardless, though this review is mixed, please remember that everyone has different lashes. What may not work for me may work for you so I definitely say to try it out if you see a specific wand/brush that you like. Having 2 out of the 4 mascaras working in my favor is still fantastic though! The next thing I really want to try from Pixi is the Glow Tonic that everyone gushes about!

A few weeks ago, I was invited to preview the all new make-up collection from Vichy, called the Teint Idéal. This is the first foundation that is aimed to improve skin health to reveal its natural radiance. We all know Vichy as being a skincare brand, however for some of us, the last step of a skin care routine is the first step of a make-up routine: a fluid, cream, powder, bronzer, concealer and highlighter from this collection form a complete range to reveal your skin's natural splendor.

This entire line has already hit drugstores on September 12th and you will find below the before + after from the event. As you can see, in the after, the center of my face is positively glowing and like I threw on alot of highlighter, except I didn't. The concealer is pretty amazing it offers a pretty good coverage without looking cakey.

This is quite a short post, but I will be including a more detailed post later once the rest of the products are sent - i.e. the bronzer, concealer etc and I will then create a look with it for my Make-up Monday series.

Zoella Beauty Review with "Girl Online: On Tour" Giveaway!*

For those of you who are beauty fanatics like me, will obviously turn to YouTube to discover or follow other beauty bloggers/gurus. A few years ago, I started following a few beauty gurus from the UK, which included Tanya Burr and of course, Zoella.  She's super creative, has a great personality and her videos are never boring - you will definitely have to check her out! Since I discovered her channel, she has come out with two books as well as her own cosmetics and skincare line!

You can find her products (in Canada) at select stores including: London Drugs, Pharmasave, Lawtons Drugs, Familiprix, IDA, Guardian, Brunet and Uniprix.

I was sent the Blissful Mistful to try out and review while letting you all know about this awesome giveaway hosted by Farley Co (more details to come).

This body mist is described as "super light and feminine spritz to scent your body with fresh and floral notes. Enriched with Vitamin E and fruit extracts - bliss in a bottle. The suggested retail price is $16.99.

My thoughts:
To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect - I was very fearful that this would be really artificially sweet smelling and overwhelming. However, it really wasn't! I think that this is a perfect item to spritz on your body for a light and refreshing lift. It's light enough that with one spray you wouldn't be making people around you have a headache. I actually took this with me to the gym and have been using it after my showers and it gives me a wonderful refreshed citrus vibe. While it is said to contain Vitamin E, and that is great, I'm not sure how much I can truly benefit from that component as I won't be slathering my body in it (haha!) - However, having that in a lotion per say, would be awesome.

Now, the giveaway part, to enter, please complete the following:

*Giveaway is hosted and will be sent by Farley Co - The contest is only extended to Canadian Residents. If you are selected as the winner, please contact me and I will give Farley Co your mailing address and they will be mailing out the book to you.

Parissa Brow Shaper & Sweetease Face Waxing Kit Review*

Sweet Ease waxing strip, Parissa Brow Shaper Wax Strips, Canadian Beauty Blog,

I was sent these a few months ago to try, and the reason why it took me so long to get a review up, is because I really wanted to thoroughly try this product out as I didn't get the results I wanted from the SweetEase. I had used that to wax the upper lip and the first time I used it I broke out severely exactly where I had waxed. I had let that subside after 1-2 weeks, and decided to try it one more time, only because I wanted to make sure it wasn't a breakout caused by hormonal reasons (yay period). However, it really wasn't... after the second use I had broken out all on my upper lip again, so unfortunately I had to give up and say bye bye to this waxing kit. Some of the other ladies from the Canadian Beauty Blogger Network had also tried this product and they seemed to like it, I guess it's up to each individual user.

The Brow Shaper strips were quite good - I was really scared to use them originally as I didn't want to take out half a brow, however it could precisely be applied and ripped off allowing. I didn't get any adverse reactions to this product however I still won't be keeping it as I only get a few strays on my brow and it can easily be taken care of by some tweezers.

My Makeup Brush Set Review*

My Makeup Brush Set Review*, Canadian beauty blogger, artis dupe brushes, makeup brush set, online makeup brush shopping, Canadian blog, beauty blog, beauty reviews.

A few weeks ago, I was sent a set of makeup brushes from My Makeup Brush Set - I decided to try out "The Midas Touch", which is a 10 piece oval brush set valued at $39.99. Compared to it's competitor/more expensive dupe, these are only a fraction of the price. I wanted to give these a try and see if they are good quality, whether I even like this new makeup brush concept (the paddle brush type), and whether I would ever decide to invest in the other brand that made these famous. That being said, if you're interested in learning more about my thoughts, please continue reading below.

When they first arrive, they are all housed in a black velvet pouch with individually plastic wraps for each brush. None of my brushes got damaged, dented or bent - the bristles held it shape as did the wand/handle. The packaging in the plastic paper wraps did feel a bit cheap, however as it's sole purpose is to really just house the product, I can't complain much more.

One small issue that I found was that some of the bristles were uneven on the brushes, as seen below in the picture. this is however easily fixed by trimming the brushes with a pair of small brow scissors.

The brushes are densely packed and are really soft, it allowed for a smaller amount of product to be applied evenly and distributed on a thin layer all over my face. My favorite brush is the biggest liquid foundation brush, by using this brush I only needed to use one pump of foundation as opposed to the regular two-three when I either used a beauty blender or kabuki brush.

Overall, for approx. $40 I would say to definitely get these - the price of this one set is basically the price of just one brush from the originating luxury brand. Even if you only reach for 4-5 of the brushes in the set, I still think that it is worth it. One big con though is the rose gold packaging - as it is a layered product, around the angled brush handle part, because the neck area slightly bends a bit with use, you can see that it is already kind of bubbling up and peeling - eventually I know that a piece will peel off, which may make the brush aesthetically displeasing as it loses the rose-gold finish. I would suggest maybe just getting the black set to start with.
