November 2016 - January 2017 Empties Review

Seems like it's been a while since my last product empties post and in the past 3 months, I have made a very diligent effort in trying to use up the majority of my beauty products. As always, I will break them down into subcategories and provide you with a short review and to let you know whether or not I'll be repurchasing this again.

If you'd like to know what my empties are and what I think of them, click below to keep on reading...

HAIR AND BODY CARE
AG Haircare - Thikk Wash
I loved that this smelled like Starburst Candy, it gently cleansed my hair and added volume. While I really do enjoy this product, I am not thoroughly sure if I will be repurchasing this right away since I'm always on a hunt to find the perfect shampoo that's right for my thinning lack volume hair.

Pureology - Color Fanatic Multi-tasking Hair Beautifier
I loved this product in every way! From the scent to what it does - being a heat protector, a detangler, and so much more! I will be repurchasing this at a later time for sure.

Khlorane - Dry Shampoo
This is one of the dry shampoos that actually work without making your hair feel gritty and matted together afterwards. It absorbs the oil and grease and I will be getting this again.

Aveda - Thickening Tonic
I have already repurchased this and will continuously do so. The scent is a very light herbally relaxing one and it works will when sprayed at the roots to thicken it when damp and then blow dried. It does not make your hair greasy or sticky.

BVspa - Salt Scrub (Pomegranate and Acai Berry)
Nothing annoys me more then a scrub that doesn't feel like a scrub. This one fulfills all of my criterias - moisturizing, exfoliating and smells fruity! LOVE! I will definitely continue to repurchase it. It also has a oil-like consistency with the scrub so your legs and arms feel soft afterwards.

SKINCARE
Skinfood Mask - Bird's Nest
These masks are relatively inexpensive but work really well - my sister in law had brought a several of these back from Korea and gave me a few to try out. I saw them on Amazon for about $1 each which is a bargain. There are so many face masks in the industry right now, I'm not entirely sure if I will repurchase this right away, but I will definitely remember this for the future

Tata Harper - Skin Illuminating Moisturizer
I had recevied this during the Tata Harper event and I fell head over heels over it. I had mentioned this a few times in different posts, especially monthly favorites and it really worked wonders on my skin. When using this, I barely broke out and my skin just looked radiant. At $113 the price is steep - it lasted me 3 months, using it twice a day everyday. Will I repurchase this? maybe not right away since I do receive many products to test, however I will probably splurge one day and repurchase this in the future since it is so good.

The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit Cleanser
I really enjoyed this product, it's really gentle, very nourishing and doesn't sud up alot so don't be surprised when you use it. I wouldn't purchase this again however though as the packaging is a bit off putting - when you pump this product, the cleanser coagulates and clogs the hole and it ends up going everywhere.

Vichy - Normaderm Gel Cleanser
I really enjoyed this product - it's great for acne prone / oily combo skin (which was what I had for a while). This really helps to control the oil production without drying out my skin - I will continue to repurchase this.

St. Ives - Scrub for Blemish Prone Skin
This has been a product I've been using for years and will continue to use it. If you love a gritty thick exfoliator where you really feel it working to polish your skin, then you will love this.

Marcelle - Cleansing Cloths
These cloths are great, I used them when I was doing lip swatch posts and these helped to wipe off the products with ease. They also helped to remove liner and mascara without leaving a panda eye residue. With these being drugstore priced, they are even better - will repurchase for sure.

MAKEUP AND MISC.
Nails Inc - NailKale Superfood Base Coat
This basecoat worked well to fortify and strengthen my nails, however I don't believe it to really be worth $15. Therefore, I probably will not be purchasing this again in the near future..

Nails Inc - 45 Second Caviar Top Coat
This product on the other hand, while the same price as the NailKale, is worth every dollar. I have been using this for years and this is my now 3rd bottle? or maybe 4th? It literally dries my nails in a short amount of time - i wouldnt say 45 seconds, but in less than 5 minutes I can go about my daily business. I have gotten a few friends and coworkers hooked on this. This also doesn't thicken up after a few times of use like the Seche Vite top coat, I can get at least a few months of use out of this  (or until the bottle runs out).

Too Faced - Hangover RX Primer
While I appreciate that this product smells like coconut water and is very nourishing, I still gravitate to the Embryolisse, which is actually almost half the price of the Too Faced. I probably won't be repurchasing this.

Bobbi Brown - Sheer Finish Loose Powder
This product is finely milled and very pigmented. On days that I do not want to wear liquid foundation, this product does an amazing job making your face look airbrushed and flawless without looking cakey

Essence - Forbidden Volume Mascara
The drugstore mascaras have really been my go-to's the past year. I mean don't get me wrong, luxury mascaras are amazing, but honestly drugstores mascaras I find to work just as good and at either a fraction or half the price. This works well to thicken the lashes and separate them

Smashbox - Indecent Exposure Mascara
This mascara worked well to separate and lengthen the lashes however it does not really do much with respect to volume or curl. While I do like this mascara I think I'll hold off and try out other ones.

Marcelle - Volume Xtension Magnetic Mascara
This is another one of the drugstore mascaras that I love! In fact, I think that this is the first drugstore mascara I tried that got me to fall in love with the fact that there's drugstore mascara gold!

Maybelline - Age Rewind Neutralizer
I wanted to like this product as I purchased this because of Tati - Glam Life Guru. However, it just didn't work with me - I think it's the neutralizer shade - it made me look a bit ashey. I think I will try this in a medium shade...

Maybelline - Fit Me Concealer
I prefer this product over the Age Rewind - I got this in medium and it worked well to hide my circles. It lasts and isn't took oily and doesn't crease. I will repurchase this, but at a later time as my weakness is mascara and I will continue to try new ones until I find a perfect one.

Sephora - Atomizer
This product didn't work for me - I loved that this was really a really slim atomizer and held more perfume than most, however it leaked constantly. This is why I'm throwing out this product and will not be repurchasing it again.

Saje - Rain Forest Purifying Diffuser Blend
Saje is something my friend introduced to me about 2 years ago and I have fallen in love. I constantly have some diffuser blend going in my diffuser and it works so well to address stress, or clear the sinuses etc. I love it. I've used the Rain Forest blend a few times already and will continue to do so.

What have been some of your empties lately? Have any of you tried anything listed above? Would love to hear from you!

Until next time, XO - M.
