Review: Kérastase Paris - The Réflection Collection*

I had previously tried and written about Kerastase products before, specifically the Densifique collection made specifically to address fine hair. If you're interested in reading my thoughts on that collection, click here. I was recently sent a few other collections to try and I thought I'd share my thoughts on the Réflection items to address colored hair first. For those who don't know I do dye my hair as I inherited greys quite early on so I have to dye my hair every 2-3 months to cover them up. As for my other hair concerns, I have thin hair that is prone to be oily quite easily.

If you're interested in learning my thoughts, then keep on reading below.
The Réflection is quite extensive and I was sent three specific items to try, that are listed below. A bit about this line as stated on their website: "Its innovative Système Capture Advanced is able to capture pigments in the fiber. Its chelators complex fights all color enemies including water particles, responsible for color fading. UV Filters and Vitamin E protect from oxydative aggressions, while Rice Bran Oil nourishes the fiber to emphasize light refraction. The color stays true and vibrant, the hair is nourished with a weightless touch." It is said to protect the color in your hair for up to 40 days while smoothing out the texture and hydrating it.

Thoughts:
1.  Réflection Bain Chromatique Riche ~ a little goes a long way with this shampoo. I made the mistake of using the regular shampoo amount on my hand and there was just way too much. On my medium length hair, I just needed about the size of a quarter and it worked up a really nice and rich lather on my hair. My hair was instantly very smooth and shiny after I dried it with my hair dryer. The only downside to this is that because of my oily roots, I found that my hair was already producing oil the next day and I was already getting greasy (which is typically what happens anyways with other shampoos that I use). I have a few other shampoos from their different collections to try out, and there's one that is actually working out for me in the sense that it is not greasy the next day and I can go two days without washing my hair, which is a godsend! I will review that product on another post!

2. Réflection Masque Chromatique ~ I really liked this product, it is a light weight hair mask that hydrates the hair and smoothes out frizzes and gives it shine. It didn't make my hair feel heavy and it worked really effectively to smooth and detangle my hair and make it soft even with the heat I expose it to with the hair dryer.

3. Réflection Fluide Chromatique ~ this is an essence that you use on your hair before you style and dry it. I found that it worked best with heat vs. just air drying as it just really helped your hair to glisten and shine and protect it from the heat damage.

Out of the three products, I would highly recommend the Masque!

Until next time, XO - M.

  1. I've only recently gotten into using more hair products! I like ones that give more volume to my hair or sea salt sprays for the summer time!
