Holiday 2018 Gift Guide - All About the Lips*

The Holiday Season is here and one of the things I get asked most is what should I get for so and so, at this or that price point. What I started doing, were gift guides - and instead of bulking everything together into one guide, I thought it would be best to do separate ones for different categories so that .I can break things down into different price points as well. If you're interested in seeing what recommendations I would make for lip products, then keep on reading below!

Review, Swatch & Tutorial: Holiday Makeup Look with YSL*

I had recently received some goodies from YSL and you know I'm always down to create a one-brand tutorial! With Halloween coming this week, that means that the Holidays are right around the corner and what better way than to bring around some elegance to your Holiday look with YSL. I have created three looks with their YSL Couture Palette Collector Yconic Purple and two of their Tatouage Couture Metallics Liquid Lips (that I LOVE and have done a previous post about before). If you're interested in seeing some swatches and the look I created, then keep on reading below.

Sephora VIB Rouge Haul - Winter 2017

It's been so long since the VIB Rouge event happened that I was contemplating whether or not to even post this. However, I do still get the occasional question on what I purchase since I do get sent some PR for review on occasion. "What would you actually spend your money on?" is a question I get most often....well, I buy things randomly here and there but I thought I'd share this haul with you.

Lip Products
1. Hourglass - GIRL Lip Stylo in Liberator, a deep berry (left) and Creator, a pinky nude (right). I have since returned Liberator as it just looked so different at home then at the store - the Sephora lighting is too good. These lippies are something that I've had my eye on for a while now, they are balmy in texture but delivers a beautiful wash of color to the lips like a lipstick. They are hydrating and do not settle in dry spots or lines.

2. YSL - Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lipstain. From left to right the colors are: 11, 5, 19, 3 and 20.  I have reviewed these in a post with swatches included as well. If you want to know why I purchased so many of these even after I was sent 3 for PR, then you have to read the post.

Face Products
1. Touch In Sol - No Pore-Blem Primer - This is a relatively inexpensive primer in the market compared to its competitors. It promises to mattify your skin as well as to even out any large pores.

2. NARS - Liquid Blush - originally, I had bought Torrid online, a warm coral with golden shimmer. However, upon testing the product it was just too dark for me and it was hard to apply it without looking too pigmented and strong. I even tried using a sesame sized amount on the cheeks and it was just too hard to control. I since exchanged it for the color Orgasm and I am loving it!

Face and Other Products
1. Glamglow - Power Cleanser - bought this product as it was already on sale and the reviews were good, I have yet to use this so I cannot comment on it however I like the concept of mud & oil to foam.

2. Fresh - Seaberry Nourishing Hand Cream - This is my third year using this product in the colder seasons, if you want to know why then read my in depth post here.

What were some of your hauls? Would love to read about them or know if you have tried any of the products listed above!

Until next time, XO - M.

glitter lids, gorgeous lips w YSL tatouage Couture - holiday look ft. all new products

The Holidays are fast approaching and I'm sure our calendars are quickly filling up with family events, parties and functions. Last week, I started my first Holiday makeup series featuring the Lise Watier Holiday 2017 Collection - if you're interested you can read about it here. This week, I decided to include my current obsession as the main focus of the Holiday tutorial - these are the YSL Tatouage Couture Liquid Matte Lip Stains.

I was sent three of these products for PR, and very rarely will I ever love a product so much that I will go out and buy more of it.. unless it honestly has really set a good impression on me. These gorgeous lippies are priced at $43 cad each, so Merry Christmas to me!

These products are a very lightweight lip stain that has an opaque formula that delivers a beautiful wash of color to the lip with its precise applicator. It feels like nothing on the lips at all, and lasts for several hours. After having lunch for example, some of the color may come off but what is left behind is a stain on the lips.

The product is not drying to the lip, the scent of it is less fragranced than their regular lip products which I love and it is just perfection in a luxuriously packaged case.

Below you will find the colors swatched on my lips:
Top Row L-R: No.11 and No.16 / Bottom Row L-R: No.5 and No.20

Top Row L-R: No.3 and No.19 / Bottom Row L-R: No.17 and No.1

My favorite shades are No.11, No.5, No.20, No.19 and No.1 ~ Told you I loved them so much I can't even stick with one!

To complete the rest of the make-up look, I used all new products for a full face tutorial. I will include a quick review of each of the products used as well below

November 2017 Favorites

It has been 2 months since my last favorites post and once again I am bringing you 10 of my favorite products I have been using for the last few months that I am absolutely loving. So let's get started!

Products that I love include:
1. Burberry - Cat Lashes Mascara - $35
2. Burberry - My Burberry Blush 90ml - $130
5. Victoria Beckham Estee Lauder - Eye Ink Matte Eyeliner - $58
6. Giorgio Armani - Ecstasy Shine Lipstick - $43
7. Charlotte Tilbury - Wonderglow: Skin Care Primer - $65
8. Cover FX - Perfect Highlighting Palette - $98 (on sale now for $45 ~ not sure for how long)
*prices listed above are in cad.

Thoughts on the products:

This product works well to keep my oily t-zone at bay for the whole day. I pat this on to my tzone and I do not have to powder or blot the area at all. Love this!

This is a medium coverage foundation, buildable to a full coverage. It makes you look airbrushed and has a satin matte finish that is weightless and leaves you looking flawless. I have recommended this to a few of my friends and coworkers and they love it as well, even those who enjoy a full matte coverage on a regular basis.

Charlotte Tilbury - Wonderglow: Skin Care Primer
I have raved about this product before on the blog and I use it either as highlight on the face, or mixed in with my foundation for a luminous finish. This is a subtle highlight that makes you look lit from within.

Cover FX knows how to do a highlighter right and this powder palette has all the click enhancers packaged in powder form. One palette on the go provides all the highlighting goodness you would need. I love this so much as I can either get a sheer to ultra glow highlight. Whatever your heart desires.

Burberry - Cat Lashes Mascara*
This plastic wand has bristles that help to separate and lengthen the lashes. It coats the mascara on your lashes and with the shape of it, it can extend the outer edges to create a cat eye look.

Victoria Beckham Estee Lauder - Eye Ink Matte Eyeliner*
I almost feel guilty adding this as my favorite because of the price tag, but if you enjoy an opaque, fully black and pigmented liner I would say that you need this in your life. Seriously, it lasts all day, doesn't budge at all and offers a very precise line.

Giorgio Armani - Ecstasy Shine Lipstick*
If you like lipsticks with a balmy texture that is sheer to buildable medium coverage then this is for you. It deposits a beautiful wash of color to the lips and keeps it moisturized and a shine.

I had received three of these products for PR and a post will be coming up soon. But before I could even upload my post, I went to purchase 4 more at Sephora and that is so rare. I liked this product so much that I splurged and went all out. The applicator allows for a very precise deposit of product to the lips. The product is buildable and leaves a gloss look to the lips and then finally dries down to matte and after a few hours when it wears off, it leaves a stain to the lips that is not patchy or dry. You HAVE to go get at least one!

Burberry - My Burberry Blush*
This perfume is great for fall and winter - it is a mix of floral and fruit which is my favorite blend. It lasts all day without the need to reapply and smells feminine and sophisticated.

I am always looking for a good micellar wipe that works well to remove my make-up effectively should I perhaps become a bit too tired to go through my entire skincare removing regiment. The price is reasonable and can be picked up at the drugstore.

What have been some of your favorites the past month and have you tried any of the products mentioned above? Do any of them interest you? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Until next time, XO - M.

*some products were sent for PR, all opinions are my own.
