Hard Candy Cosmetics Haul

Once a month or so, I like to visit the drugstore to see what's new in the world of drugstore makeup. You never know what you can find in those aisles. I usually have dinner with one of my girlfriends, and then we head to the Walmart nearby and do an hour or more of swatching, playing and purchasing.

It's usually a hit or miss for me when I go, this time I fell in love with Hard Candy products, and at a ridiculously reasonable price, I didn't have to feel guilty for breaking the bank.
For those of you who use Make Up Setting sprays, you will know how pricey they get - they can range anywhere from $30-$46+. This Hard Candy one is under $7 and has the same claims as its higher end competitors.

After putting it to the test during the hotter summer days, I would have to say that it does do its job. By that, I mean that it does the exact same thing, as my $36 spray, so if I had to choose, I would repurchase this over and over again.

The Hard Candy setting spray smells faintly of cucumbers, it is refreshing. The only negative thing I have to say, is that the mister isn't fine enough. Don't get me wrong, your makeup won't be ruined and running down your face if you spray this on your face. I'm just saying that it isn't as fine as the ones I've used before. However, if I'm saving $29, I really don't mind.

For those of you who have been following Hard Candy since the 90's you would remember that the original packaging was the one on the right, with the jelly ring. I remember always wanting one when I was in grade 5?, but back then, it was a higher end brand and I didn't have the money for it.

This year, Hard Candy released a reboot of their original packaging, and I knew I had to get one at least and I got it in a bright orange color, perfect for summer, especially on a pedicure.

Normally, their polish is packaged like the bottle on the left, I got a pretty pastel baby blue, however when applied - it quickly changed colors and looked a bit greyish baby blue. I think I will save this color for fall.

Finally, I picked up two lipsticks at around $4 each. It actually says that it is a "plumping serum lipstick", however I did not really see or feel any plumping effect. The best part about these lipsticks, besides its amazing price, was the texture/quality. They glide on effortlessly while packing alot of color and pigment. It does not settle into the fine line of your lips, but adds a perfect glossy shine. The scent of these lipsticks smell slightly sweet, but not obnoxious or nauseating.

What have been some of your drugstore hauls lately? What are you looking forward to?

Until next time, XO - M.

  1. Wow pretty impressed with everything you got! I've never tried Hard Candy but heard wonders about their concealer! The lipsticks and setting spray are tempting though!
