Review: KORRES - Skincare Collection and Routine*

I have previously tried some products out from KORRES and have reviewed them here on the blog, if you are interested in revisiting them, please click here. For those of you who are not aware, KORRES products are created from the cleanest, most natural ingredients. They are made in Greece from pure botanicals and they strive to protect your skin and the planet simultaneously. To learn more about the history of the company and their products, please click here, it is definitely a fascinating read.

I was graciously sent the above 5 products to try out, if you're interested in learning more about each item, and to see what my thoughts are then keep on reading below:

This is a gentle cleanser that helps me remove any traces of makeup left on my skin while leaving it feel hydrated which is very important to me. This would be perfection for the colder months, especially winter in my opinion! It cleans my skin efficiently without the need of a second follow-up cleanser. I have used this before and will definitely stay on my regular rotation.

This mask has been a saviour in my battle with mask-acne that took over my face in the past few months. This is a natural resurfacing mask with AHA, BHA and Pomegranate enzymes, all exfoliators that help to cleanse the skin while promoting cell renewal. It also contains Salicylic acid, Kaolin clay and White Willow Bark extract to control oil production on the face, and treat those nasty pimples and flare-ups. To use, you massage this onto the face and leave on for 10-15 minutes and is to be used 1-3x a week.

This sleek black packaged product houses this magical serum to help combat my dark panda eye circles. One pump is all it takes for both eyes, and you should use it to massage around the entire eye area. It contains Black Pine Extract which works to combat fine wrinkles, eliminate wrinkles and lift sagging upper eyelids. It works to brighten and lift the eye area to make you look more youthful and less tired.

This serum contains two products - a 10% wild rose oil and 15% vitamin super C to brighten and even out skin tone, the second product is a 5% dark spot correction complex to target skin discolouration and dark spots. This product is perfect for those want to brighten their skin, and as previously mentioned, even out any skin discolouration on their skin.

Lastly, this is a repeat product for me, their gel-cream has a whipped like texture that is rich yet light weight and melts instantly into the skin. It is said to keep the skin hydrated for 48 hours and will not clog the pores. The yoghurt properties help to deliver a healthy glow to the skin.

Until next time, XO - M.

November 2017 - February 2018 Empties and Review*

It's been a few months since my last empties post and I'm sharing with you what I've used up the last few months, what I liked and will repurchase and what I wasn't quite a fan of. Pictured below, you will find the items that were used - I have also broken it down into different sub sections for convenience.

Skin and Hair Products
1. Fast Conditioner - I really love the Fast Shampoo, I have ordered it repeatedly and have included it in past favorites and empties reviews and I will continue to do so. However, the conditioner I really found nothing too fantastic about it that would make me want to repurchase it. It didn't necessarily hydrate my damaged ends nor did it help with detangling. Therefore I will stick to repurchasing the Shampoo in the 33oz pump bottle.

2. Aveeno - Daily Moisturizing Yogurt Body Wash - Great, hydrating body wash with a subtle scent. I would not repurchase this yet only because I constantly want to try more and more products.

3. The Body Shop - Early-Harvest Raspberry - This I will continue to repurchase because it works great for my eczema prone skin in the winter time!

4. Dial - Miracle Oil (Marula Oil) Body Wash - Love this as well, it is extremely hydrating and smells great, I will most likely repurchase this soon as well.

Face Products
1. Korres - Greek Yogurt Cleanser - I have been using this cream cleanser throughout my pregnancy and I really enjoy it. It cleanses my face and rids traces of make-up, it hydrates my skin and does not leave behind any residue. I highly recommend this!

2. Rodial - Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Tonic - I use this as part of my skincare routine after cleansing as well as to set my make-up. It brightens, refreshes and hydrates the skin - I love this alot and will continue to repurchase it!

3. Clinique - 7-Day Scrub Cream - I liked how gritty this exfoliator was, however was not a fan of the scent. I prefer my current drugstore alternative exfoliator to this (sorry!) and will not be repurchasing it.

Makeup Items
1. Embryolisse - Lait-Creme Concentre - I bought this after seeing PixiWoos rave about it continuously on their channel. I loved it so much, that I rationed it and didn't end up using it all. That's my biggest problem sometimes, that I love something so much that I'm so scared to use it and it ends up going bad. That is exactly what happened to this - I left it for, I'm embarrassed to say, almost 2 years! It is a great primer that is also a moisturizer and leaves your skin plump and hydrated. I will repurchase this for sure.

2. Smashbox - Liquid Lipstick (Some Nerve) - I have always loved this formulation of Liquid Lipstick, it's probably one of my favorites and recommend it to people who ask me. It is whipped, doesn't settle on fine lines and delivers opaque color with one swipe.

3. Avon - Liquid Liner - I won't be purchasing this again as it smeared all over my bottom lash line and I looked like a panda by the end of the day

4. Kat Von D - Liquid Liner - I have repurchased this many time and will continue to do so, it is black, opaque doesn't transfer and stays all day and gives you a great cat eye!

5. Too Faced - Cream Blush (So Peachy) - This cream blush melts like butter onto the face, love it! However, my blush fell right out of the pan and I couldn't rescue it because it just kept falling out. Therefore, though I like it alot, I'm not too sure if I will repurchase this... I mean, it obviously doesn't happen to every single one of them - but I'm just saying I'd like to try other things!

6. Benefit - Gimme Brow - I really like how small this brush is, perfect to grab onto all your short brow hairs! However, I believe this may have been recalled? I don't seem to see it anymore on the site.

Until next time, XO - M.

Review: My Current Favorite Hand-Creams*

While we are getting glimpses of warmer weather here in Toronto, Winter isn't quite over yet! I know because well, it's still cold plus my hands are still suffering the effects of the weather with the occasional eczema flare-up. It takes me a while to find some hand creams that do not irritate me, so I had to share my findings with you now that I have narrowed it down to my top 5.

Why 5 you say? well, each one is different - in terms of scent and availability. Honorable mention does go to the Fresh - Seaberry Nourishing Hand Cream that I have been using every winter for the last 2-3 years, that stuff is amazing! But hey, I need to try something new right?

I will review the products from left to right in the above image, so if you're interested in learning more, then keep on reading below!

Product Empties and Review: March - June 2018

It's time to round up some of the products I've used up in the last 3 months and I've sorted them into categories below - skincare/bodycare, foundations/primers/concealer, mascaras, misc and makeup. Keep on reading below to see what I will repurchase again and what I really enjoyed.

December '15 to March '16 Empties

I have managed to go through ALOT of products the last 4 months - this is because I typically open too many products at once, as I get sent alot of things and I end up having to try out different products while already on a current skincare or hair care routine. In this post, I will be telling you what there is in this round of empties, as well as whether or not I would be repurchasing the product and also include a short review.

I used to love this product, however the perks of being a beauty blogger is you get sent new products you would have never been exposed to. Needless to say, because of the price of this product, I have found something much more budget friendly that serves the same purpose.
No
While I loved this product and it effectively did its job, I found the smell a bit too overwhelming and there are a lot of dry shampoos on the market right now so I’ll be giving the others a try.
Aveda – Thickening Tonic
Yes
I loved this product and I am now on my second bottle. Having very fine hair, before blow drying I would spritz this on the roots and it would make me look less flat and boring. Love it! It doesn’t leave a gritty or sticky residue either.
Yes
I like co-lab products, especially the volume extreme line, being able to pick this up at winners, I can usually get a big bottle for cheap. I typically take this on vacation or the gym with me.
No
This product took about 1-2 weeks of using before I saw any type of result. I love the Jergens one better, I saw results after the first shower, and definitely after the second.
Yes
I was introduced to this by a coworker who has told me to use this as I have some eczema on my hands and my previous bath & body shower gel was giving me itchy skin (even though it said it contained shea). What I found was that it contained a lot of alcohol, which is why it was drying out my skin. The Body Shop shower gels do not, so it’s been my savior this winter season.
No
Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m used to the oil base formula yet. It makes me feel like there’s a layer of oil left, or some sort of residue. The scent also was boring, not to my liking. Have to pass.
No
While this product was good and I did go through 2 bottles, I have found others that have taken its place – First Aid Beauty J
The Face Shop – Hydro Gel Mask Sheet Vita B
No
Didn’t find that it had much result and I almost found it a bit drying? Like there wasn’t enough product on it.
Origins – Never a Dull Moment
No
NO! I really disliked this product! It was like squeezing fruit roll-up paste out of the tube and trying to get it to work. It ended up usually falling down the drain or tub. Not worth the hassle
Korres – Primer
No
Didn’t do anything for me. Nope.
Baby Lips – Lip Balm
Yes
LOVE IT – everytime I know someone who goes to Asia, I ask them to bring me back some. It’s cheap there and its way better than the American formula.
No
Didn’t like that it was in a putty formula that I have to dip my fingers into. Wasn’t sanitary and didn’t have enough results to justify it.
L’occitane – Ultra Shea Rich Body Cream
No
The scent was a bit too strong for me, and for such an expensive product I expected more. I prefer the almond oil from L’occitane.
Indie Lee – Blemish Stick
Yes
I’ve gone through two of these, and my coworker has probably gone through 5. This stuff works. Love it!
Bumble and Bumble – Thickening Hairspray
No
The price didn’t justify the product as I didn’t see results. It also left a sticky residue and almost weighed my hair down.
Kat Von D – Tattoo Liner (Trooper)
Yes
Love this product. Will continue to repurchase. Gives you a beautiful wing that is effortless!
Graydon Clinical Luxury – Before Bed Spray
Yes
I have really been into aromatherapy lately and I spritz this before I go to bed every night. It helps to de-stress and I would definitely repurchase this.

Have you given any of these products a try before? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time, XO - M.
