Around two months ago, I was invited to the Dr. Roebuck's fall beauty launch event at The Spoke Club in Toronto. While we sat and learned all about the new products, we also had the chance to enjoy some massages, appetizers and drinks while catching up with other fellow beauty bloggers. The few pictures below just show how beautiful the displays are, and really represent the company and what it stands for - an all natural skincare brand.

Dr Roebuck’s has specifically created the products to provide therapeutic and gentle face and body care. It is endorsed by Doctors and Medical Professionals and is formulated for sensitive skin and individuals with a passion for chemical, Paraben and BPA free products. So like I said, this event occurred two months ago, and after having used these products for some time, I'm ready to provide you with my honest thoughts and review of the three products I had received in the press bag.

Dr. Roebuck's Natural Cleansing Wipes. Dr. Roebuck's Reverse Aging Serum, Dr. Roebuck's Face Cream, Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, Beauty Blogger, Canadian Beauty Blogger, Natural Skincare, anti-aging serum, toronto blogger, toronto, canadian
Natural Cleansing Wipes $15.95
Active Properties: Aloe Vera, Pomegranate, Witch Hazel and Organic Glycerin.
Available September 15, 2016.

Aloe provides moisture to the skin and Pomegranate encourages cellular regeneration while exfoliating and reducing the signs of aging. The Witch Hazel tightens and brightens while toning the skin and Organic Glycerin replenishes and increases skin elasticity.

Thoughts: I appreciate all the quality ingredients in this face wipe, however I'm not too fond of the wipe (despite all the goodness added to it) it as it didn't do a good job removing my makeup. The wipes are rather dry and it just didn't do the job. In addition, it left a bit of a weird scent afterwards which I couldn't bear. I think this wipe is only good if let's say you want a refresh after the gym and to just freshen up your face sans makeup. At the price of $15.95, it is quite hefty and I would choose to forego this product.

Dr. Roebuck's Natural Cleansing Wipes. Dr. Roebuck's Reverse Aging Serum, Dr. Roebuck's Face Cream, Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, Beauty Blogger, Canadian Beauty Blogger, Natural Skincare, anti-aging serum, toronto blogger, toronto, canadian
Reverse Aging Serum - $79.95
Active Properties: Creatine, Gatuline in-tense, Vitamin B3, Evening Primrose Oil, Borage Seed Oil and Aloe Vera
Available September 15, 2016

Creatine stimulates collagen and cell regeneration, Gatuline in-tense soothes deep wrinkles and helps with facial contouring. Vitamin B3 firms and reduces signs of aging, reduces hyperpigmentation and prevents moisture loss. Evening Primrose Oil reduces fine lines and lightens dark circles around the eyes. Borage Seed Oil he.ps to restore the skin moisture and promotes elasticity and Aloe Vera moisturizes, soothes and is an anti-aging properties while protecting the skin.

Thoughts: This is my favorite product of the three. It is very light weight, a true serum and absorbs really quickly onto your face and does not leave a trace of this afterwards. Your skin is not tacky and there is no film on it. It evens out my skintone and my face feels plump and youthful.

Dr. Roebuck's Natural Cleansing Wipes. Dr. Roebuck's Reverse Aging Serum, Dr. Roebuck's Face Cream, Shoppers Drug Mart, Murale, Beauty Blogger, Canadian Beauty Blogger, Natural Skincare, anti-aging serum, toronto blogger, toronto, canadian
Face - $59.95
Active Ingredients - Rosehip Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Macadamia Oil

All of these ingredients, when combined form an active, anti-aging facial formula that improves cell regeneration, softens fine lines and repairs damaged skin.

I use this twice a day, morning and night and gently massage it to my skin. It also works amazingly as a make-up primer. It has a very light herbal fragrance that is very calming. It absorbs quickly and my foundation is applied effortlessly afterwards.

You can find all of these products exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart and Murale.
Again, out of the three, I highly suggest the serum!

Until next time, XO - M.

Battle of the Holiday Highlighter Palettes - Stila vs. Laura Mercier

Stila - Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette, Laura Mercier - Fall In Love Face Illuminator Collection, beauty blogger, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blog, toronto blogger, toronto blog, sephora holiday collection, laura mercier holiday, laura mercier highlighter palette, stila highlighter palette, sephora, sephora canada, sephora holiday

Ah, Halloween isn't even here yet, wait, let alone Thanksgiving and the stores are already carrying Christmas merchandise. This even goes with the beauty industry - Sephora and the brands that they carry are already releasing their Holiday Value Sets (the best part of the year I must say!). This year, for highlighters there were two specific palettes that I was very interested in getting/trying out to see if they would live to the hype.

The two that I'm talking about are 1) Stila - Star Light, Star Bright Highlighting Palette ($51/3=$17/highlight) and 2) Laura Mercier - Fall In Love Face Illuminator Collection ($70/4=$17.50/highlight)

I will be breaking down each palette below, and providing you with swatches and my personal opinion on which one you should spend your money on this season!

Externally/Packaging Wise - Stila wins - it is much smaller, much more sleek and therefore easier to travel with or pop in your make-up bag.

Visually - Just looking at the two palettes, the Laura Mercier one has to take the cake - only because of the beautiful swirl 3D wave pattern.

Texture - Stila wins here - their texture is innovative, not like anything out right now for hilighters. It is reminiscent of the Maybelline bouncy blushes in that it is almost a gel/mousse hybrid - it's squishy and delivers a beautiful sweep of color and pigment when applied/swatched.

Below are swatches of the two palettes - These swatches are ONE swipe of the product with my finger and I must say that the clear winner is Stila, once again. It offers three very different colors - a pink cool toned highlight, a neutral beige champagne highlight and finally a bronze toned one. Each one offers a strong pop of highlight and can be used alone or even mixed with each other to create your own custom shade. Though the Laura Mercier is more beautiful to look at and offers you one more shade, I must say that I still personally would recommend you to buy the Stila one because of the color payoff, the color options as well as innovative texture.

Review & Swatch: Smashbox - Always on Matte Liquid Lipsticks*

Smashbox - Always on Matte Liquid Lipsticks Swatch + Review*, Some Nerve, Big Spender and Thrill Seeker, Girl Gang, Stepping Out and Chill Zone, sephora, sephora canada, smashbox, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blog, canadian blog, toronto blogger, toronto, canada sephora, liquid lipsticks

This post is long overdue and I'm so sorry!! I'm really trying to catch up on everything because of the last few months, and I think that I am slowly getting there - one post at time! I'm writing on weekends now, and pre-scheduling everything to go live during the week. That way, I can get my 3 posts up a week - Monday, Wednesday + Friday!

I have been looking forward to these Smashbox Liquid lipsticks for months and the U.S (those lucky guys) got them at least a few weeks or even a month ahead of us!! (jealous). I am absolutely in love with these liquid lipsticks - I had always wanted to incorporate them into my routine, however I never had the chance to find a formula that I liked enough.

These ones from Smashbox only require ONE SWIPE to deliver a perfect dose of pigmentation on your lips. They aren't patchy and they don't dry up your lips or crack. If you are really sensitive about feeling dry, these also pair very well with a balm first then the liquid lipstick on top. This helps to provide a bit of hydration before hand.

I was sent 5 colors to try, and as you can see I purchased one more since! I have them all swatched below!

Top Row (Left to Right): Girl Gang, Stepping Out and Chill Zone

Bottom Row (Left to Right): Some Nerve, Big Spender and Thrill Seeker.

My favorite color of the lot, to my surprise, is Thrill Seeker. Everytime I wear it, I get compliments - at least a few each time! At first, I thought they were teasing me (yes I think weirdly), but then havig gotten compliments consistently, I am really starting to see why. It's a gorgeous orange red - perfect pop of color that brings some life to my face! Big Spender is great for anyone who is looking for a rosey nude tone - perfect for everyday. Not too dramatic, not too bold.

I highly suggest that you go and grab one of these babies ASAP! I have been creeping on the internet and saw that they may be potentially releasing even more colors soon! So exciting!!

Flawless By Friday Product Review*

A while back, I was sent a few products from Flawless by Friday to try out, it took me a few weeks to fully try everything out due to my busy schedule but honestly I am in love with these high quality products. Before I begin my review, I thought I'd share a bit about the history of the company with you. They combine asian-inspired gel technology in their masks to minimize the time and maximize the amount of result. The products are free of parabens and sulphates and are suitable for all skin types.

Their skincare line consists of 4 products: Flawless by Friday 5-day system, Forever Flawless serum, Mesmereyes eye treatments, and Good to Go system. It is recommended that you start by getting your skin radiant and hydrated with the Flawless by Friday 5-day system. After those initial 5 days, to maintain that flawless skin you should continue to use the Forever Flawless Serum, and brighten up your eye area with the extra-cooling Mesmereyes eye masks.

Face masks aren't just a skin regiment for women, men can enjoy it too! However, most men may feel intimidated using just any face mask so they specifically created a set for the men out there so that the boyfriends and husbands can enjoy the Good to Go system. This will get their skin prepped, hydrated and energized for any special or important business event in their life.

Their products are available on their website at www.flawlessbyfriday.com, as well as 50+ specialty cosmetic retail stores including The Bay now and spas across Canada.

About the Founder:
The one great thing about this brand is that it is founded by Brittny Skylar Robins, a 28-year-old Toronto entrepreneur! She grew up in a house as one of five sisters. She was always the resident make up artist, hairdresser, and skincare consultant, sparking her love for the beauty industry.  Flawless by Friday came to life not only because Brittny wants to help women look beautiful and educate them in skincare and beauty, she is also passionate about the concept of inner confidence shaping outer beauty when people interact with the world. She wants to help women achieve inner and outer “flawlessness” by encouraging them to be their unique, authentic self.

As indicated by the name of the product, it is a 5-day facial system to serve as a quick fix for all your skincare concerns. It is meant to be used if you anticipate any special events coming up and you want to look your best. It contains 5 different hydrogel masks that are soaked in 5 unique blends of ingredients. Each mask only takes 15 minutes a day and you can see in the pictures below, that they are all packaged separately and labelled carefully. Although they do mention days of the week on the masks, feel free to just use them whenever you want - you can start them 5 days before your event at any time, so on a Tuesday, Wednesday just remember what day you're on :)

Day One: Moisture Monday – Hyaluronic Acid
• Helps skin retain moisture as hyaluronic acid holds a thousand times its weight in water
• Benefits tissue repair and protection by penetrating into the skin’s upper layers

Day Two: Toning Tuesday – Vitamin C
• Reverses age-related damage to skin as a powerful antioxidant
• Reduces inflammation, acne scarring, and pigmentation

Day Three: Wrinkle Wednesday – Green Tea
• Sooths and heals stressed skin while reducing inflammation
• Prevents collagen breakdown and delays skin cell aging

Day Four: Tightening Thursday – Collagen & Caffeine
• Slows down the breakdown of collagen by combating damaging free radicals
• Repairs UV damage, treats rosacea, and soothes inflammation

Day Five: Flawless Friday – Honey
• Boosts overall complexion by moisturizing, soothing, and heeling the skin
• Treats and prevents acne with its natural antibacterial properties

As you can see, these masks are made of a thick gel material and it works well to absorb all the necessary ingredients and to also make sure it stays locked in on your face during the mask process.

Next up is the Forever Flawless Booster Serum (meant to be used everyday after the 5-day System to maintain the effects of the system) and the Mesmereyes eye masks.

The Forever Flawless Serum is my favorite product out of everything sent. All you need is ONE DROP, seriously - ONE DROP every night. It is the perfect combination of hyaluronic acid and glycolic acid (my two favorites) and it leaves your skin feeling softer and more radiant when you wake up. It also combats acne and signs of aging, and reduces acne scarring and improves overall skin texture. You also only need to use this product 2-3 times a week at night and make sure sunscreen is applied the next morning, as always!

For those of you who do not know,
Hyaluronic acid brings moisture back into the skin as it retains a thousand times its weight in water within the cells of the skin. It can also penetrate into the layers more deeply than your regular moisturizer.

Glycolic acid is a great catch-all treatment because it has the smallest molecules in the alpha hydroxy acid group. It treats fine lines, acne, oiliness, blackheads, and dullness simultaneously by penetrating into the deep layers of the skin.

Mesmeryes is a hydrogel eye mask, the texture of the eye mask is the same as the face ones and features a myriad of different active ingredients that work together to combat these major concerns we all have - i.e. puffy eyes, saggy bags and dark circles. The cooling hydrogel technology allows you to instantly feel the difference when applied and because of the thicker gel texture, it will stay put just like the face masks.

1. Hyaluronic acid – hydrates the under eye area to help sooth and plump the skin under your eyes.
2. Collagen & Caffeine – tightens and smoothes fine lines while plumping up the collagen production in your skin.
3. Honey – depuffs your eyes and soothes all irritation or redness around the eye area.

I thoroughly 100% recommend you to try out the products from Flawless by Friday and I do sincerely love to support a Canadian Brand. If you were to get one thing, I'd suggest the serum for sure!

Until next time, XO - M.

Eminence Organic Skincare Review*

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

I was recently sent a few products from Eminence Organic Skin Care, available here. They have an extensive range of products and these four are a preview of the delectable collection of products they offer. Upon doing further research into the company and what other products they have - I noticed a common theme in everything - FRUIT! Pear and green apple sugar scrub, lemon cleanser, cranberry pomegranate sugar scrub, raspberry pore refining mask and so forth... actually, after trying these four products out, I am interested in trying out more items.

What I was sent is actually an entire skin regiment, a cleanser, exfoliator, hydrating mist and serum.

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

Step 1: Purify and Tone with Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces
This cleanser contains antioxidant-rich acai berries that are perfect for revitalizing your skin's texture. The cream cleanser is filled with vitamins and antioxidants to improve your skin tone. It also includes hyaluronic acid (my favorite) to deeply hydrate and seabuckthorn oil to help make your skin more smooth and supple.

Thoughts: I really liked this product. While it wasn't immediately effective in removing eyeliner and mascara from my face (that can be easily remedied with a micellar water or make-up wipe), I really liked how hydrated my skin felt after use. It did feel plumped and moisturized and the faint smell of berries is a bonus!

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

Step 2: Exfoliate and Smooth your skin with the Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces
I was really hoping that this would literally smell like Strawberry and Rhubarb, however, it didn't :( It had a very very faint scent of something sweet but I can't really pinpoint what. If you love coarser exfoliators, then this is not for you. This is a very mild exfoliator as it is made with natural ingredients. It contains rice powder and chickpea flour to absorb oil, tighten pores and gently buff your skin and rid the dead skin cells. It also contains salicylic acid sourced from strawberries to assist in the above mentioned items.

Thoughts: I must say I wasn't too big of a fan of this, I enjoy a coarser exoliator and I just felt like this didn't really do anything for me. In addition, It was very hard to get a perfect balance of the paste texture as if it was too watery, it wouldn't work and if it's too thick it just ... still wasn't coarse enough. This would be a pass for me.

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

Step 3: Tighten and Regenerate with Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces.
This collagen boosting toner contains Natural Retinol Alternative Complex that tightens skin to give a more lifted appearance. Swiss Green Apple Stem Cells rejuvenate and maintain the look of skin's elasticity, regenerating and strengthening cells. Neroli Oil serves as a fragrant antiseptic that refreshes and hydrates your skin. Finally, an added boost from coconut milk provides extra hydration while balancing the pH levels.

Thoughts: I LOVE this! While I cannot smell all the separate notes mentioned above, i.e. the green apple, coconut milk etc - this was still a fantastic product. My face simply glowed afterwards and was plump and hydrated. This is my favorite item out of the four.

Eminence Organic Skincare Review, Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces, Neroli Age Corrective Hydrating Mist ($38) 4.2 fluid ounces., Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant ($48) 4.2 ounces, Firm Skin Acai Cleanser ($38) 8.4 fluid ounces, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, beauty blog, skincare review, natural skincare, natural skin,

Lastly, Step 4: Moisturize and protect with the Stone Crop Hydrating Gel ($59) 1.2 fluid ounces.
This hydrating gel deeply penetrates your skin to soothe and heal your skin, especially if you have a dry complexion. This serum is packed with vitamins and nutrients, there is also cactus juice to deliver instant moisture and leaves your skin with a smooth matte finish. Antioxidant-rich green tea and bearberry extract reduces the signs of aging and sun spots, while also protecting you against cell damage.

Thoughts: Again, I really liked this product - it absorbed so quickly into my skin and left it very smooth. I was able to apply primer on right after and then foundation. It kept my oil at bay and I saw it really work its magic after a few weeks of use.

Until next time, XO - M.

What's in my travel bag? Tips + Tricks to packing light

When I traveled earlier this year to the Dominican, I had considered writing a "what's in my travel beauty bag" post, however I never got around to it. This time, since I was travelling for work, I decided to write about my tips + tricks on packing for a short trip as well as what was in my beauty bag (plus this post came as a recommendation) !

I find that when you are travelling, it is a MUST to pack light. If I was going to pack everything I actually needed, I would need multiple suitcases. In order to narrow down to what I should actually bring, I find that it is the true determination as to what I really actually value/like. Think about it, I am only going to be using these few things for the next few days/week, it better hold up to my expectations. Therefore, I only pack the best of the best, the items that I know will never let me down and of course, I pack something neutral, nothing too colorful or crazy.

So here goes, the following are items that I have brought with me this time around:
What's in my travel bag? Tips + Tricks to packing light, Sample Packs, Travel Beauty Bag, Beauty Bag, Beauty Samples, Skincare Samples, Garnier, Verb, Cleansing Wipes, darphin, Clinique, Fresh, Dr. Brandt, Sephora, Makeup Brushes, Packing Light, Packing overnight bag, beauty blogger, beauty blog, canadian beauty blogger, canadian beauty blog, toronto, makeup, stila, urban decay, charlotte tilbury, marc jacobs role play, anastasia, tarte
1. Charlotte Tilbury - Third Edition Makeup Bag - LOVE this! It's SUPER spacious with a divider within as well.

2. Stila - Perfectly Poreless Putty Perfector* - To be honest, I really hope they never discontinue this product. It is such an innovative foundation, it feels like a putty and is totally travel friendly. You use the foam applicator pad inside to apply and even though no matter how much you swipe the product and you feel like you don't make a dent in the product, you actually have more than enough to give your face a flawless finish. It literally makes me look airbrushed and I just throw it in my purse for any touch-ups.

3. Urban Decay - Beached Bronzer  - gives you a natural glow without looking like an oompa-loompa!

4. Maybelline - Concealer - a good drugstore concealer that doesn't disappoint. Offers a medium coverage, but buildable and is a good match to my skintone.

5. Marc Jacobs - Roleplay - Picked this up recently at the VIB Rouge Sephora event. It's a natural and neutral lip color that gives a sheer wash of color and gives you that "my lips but better" moments.

6. Anastasia Brow Wiz - Chocolate - This is always reliable, I actually brought it because it was near the end of its life cycle and I could toss it while I was there.

7. Clio - Waterproof Pen Liner- You must try this liner! My sister in law picked this up for me from her trip to Asia, but I found it on amazon for approx $13. Cheaper than alot of other similar liners you can find at Sephora. Offers a fine brush tip as well as an ultra pigmented black line that is a matte finish. I will be repurchasing this for sure when this one is out!

8. Too Faced - Brow Quickie (Universal Brunette)* - This gives a slight lighter tint to the brow to set it once you're done drawing them on your face :) It doesn't give a hard or crusty finish so it looks very natural.

9. Stila - Perfect Me, Perfect Hue Eye & Cheek Palette* - This palette is perfect for me. The neutral eyeshadows as well as two blush colors. Compact and sleek, great for travelling.

10. Sephora Dual Ended Travel Makeup Brush Set* - I tried to find a link to this on the Sephora website, unfortunately it may be sold out, however! Fear not, Sephora always restocks or releases similar items throughout the year, just need to keep an eye out. I rarely gravitate towards double ended brushes, however when travelling, it makes alot of sense. Again with the compactness and sleekness it's good for travelling and packing light.

Below: Sample Packets of Skincare, Makeup Wipes & Haircare
This is the biggest tip I can offer - while alot of people may think very little of sample packets or actually end up using it right away at home, I strongly suggest that you save them all up because it all counts. Bringing packets or deluxe samples of face washes, skincare and haircare means that you can use it and toss it while you're travelling. You no longer have to lug any bottles back and forth :) If you are worried about a specific brand and do not want to carry an assortment, you can always visit your favorite beauty counter and ask for any specific sample packets to take with you.

With respect to makeup wipes, I picked up this pack from Winners. Simple and does the job - I use these to remove my makeup at the end of the day before I head to the shower.

What are some of your favorite items to take with you while you're travelling? Sometimes if it is an extended trip I like to pack a few face masks as well. Please share some of your packing tips + tricks as well! I'd love to hear all about them!

Tutorial & Review: Gosh Cosmetics - New Core Products*

Gosh Cosmetics new core products launching in shoppers drug mart september 2016, velvet touch matt lipsticks, primer plus skin perfector, contour n' strobe kit, #foundationdrops, 9 shades to be cool in copenhagen $20, forever matt eyeshadow stick $14, giant pro liner, beauty blogger, canadian beauty blogger, drugstore beauty, shoppers drug mart, canadian beauty, bbloggersca

GOSH Cosmetics has been stocked at Shoppers Drug Mart for a while now and though I have tried a few products here and there, this is my first time trying out the entire range and everything mentioned in this post are part of the new core products available starting this month. Keep on reading to see a makeup look featuring some of these items, as well as what products I would definitely recommend you to go and pick up.

The shades are all neutral in nature and range from soft nude and brown to grey and black tones. This is suitable for all skin tones and is perfume free.

Attached below are swatches from the palette as well as the liner, eye shadow stick and lipstick (on top). As you can see, they are pretty pigmented (especially the lighter shades), they are buttery and smooth. I think it's really worth the $20 - divided it is $2.22 a shadow - that's a steal!

The Forever Matt Eye Shadow Stick $14 is also divine, it is matte, buttery and pigmented - one swipe was enough to deliver the perfect amount of color. It is waterproof and does not need a brush. It is a twist up formula and does not require sharpening as well and is perfume free. Though this one is $14, I still think this is a good buy. It can be both a base color for shadow as well as a shadow on its own.

The Giant Pro Liner $16 - I need to go buy a backup right now. Seriously! It delivers a intense black color, and though the thick tip seems intimidating, it actually allows you to apply both thin (great for the wing) and for thick lines (liner on the rest of the lid). It is long lasting, lasts all day without smudging, yet it is easy to remove end of day.

I'm not sure if it is worth the $32 only because I do not really believe that it does what it says - I mean it is a great highlighting and bronzer palette, but I can't contour with these colors - three of the four products have a highlight sheen to it. In addition, they say that it is a 4-in-1 product, you can highlight, blush, 2x contour - however the blush isn't pigmented enough to be a blush plus it's too shimmery - I would still use it as a highlighter. This palette is ultra soft, creamy and great to blend out - however again, if you are buying this to contour and use as a 4-in-1 I really would suggest that this might not completely satisfy you.

As for the images below, I decided to format my product shots differently - for me to effectively show you how a product works, I would do a before and after. The Primer Plus Skin Perfector $25 - reduces imperfections and achieves a healthy natural glow. It visibly evens skin tone with the peach toned primer formula and the pearl pigments gives you a beautiful glow. It provides your skin with moisture while delivering a great base for your foundation application. So yes, this is a good buy!

The #FoundationDrops $26 comes in 5 colors, which may be a bit difficult to cater to different skin tones (the light and dark tones may feel left out). However, if you can find the right color, you can see that with two thin layers, it offered great coverage. In addition, I just patted a bit extra and it worked well as a concealer. The foundation contains argan oil to hydrate and soften skin. I do enjoy this product, it lasted the day and while it didn't do anything amazing like helping me stay matte throughout the day (I have an oily T-Zone), as a drugstore higher priced foundation (and obviously cheaper than luxury stores) it did a fab job and I would repurchase this.

The Velvet Touch Matt lipstick $14 in Matte Cranberry is a matte finish formula that doesn't leave a dry finish to the lips. It is moisturizing and is enriched with natural bee, carnauba and candelilla wax. It also contains hyaluronic acid for fuller and even more hydrated lips. It is paraben free as well.

Lastly, the mascaras, YES! you must try - ugh I sound like such a paid for advertisement or something, but I'm not paid to say this. The mascara - is lovely! I have the shortest lashes and the Rebel Eyes Long Wear Volume Mascara $17 worked perfectly to curve my lashes, have them stay curled, not flake off or transfer to my bottom lash line, and also contains sea buckthorn seed oil to protect the lashes. As you can see in the before and after pictures, my lashes are actually visible and quite voluminous after the application. The Lash Sculpting Fibre Mascara $17 is also quite lovely as well - it contains Bladderwrack seaweed from the Danish Coast that delivers ultra-high levels of antioxidants, amino acids, vitamins and minerals.

Overall, I highly recommend these products to you if you are looking for some new products to try at Shoppers Drug Mart. They are higher than most drugstore make-up items, however I find these to be higher in quality and more reliable. They have not let me down in delivery and I am willing to pay a bit more for products that work.

Until next time, XO - M.

My Skincare Routine for stressed out skin

My skin was absolutely freaking out on me the last few months due to the stress incurred from some stuff happening at work as well as the big move. I felt like I was hitting puberty all over again and was getting pimples popping out everywhere (so attractive eh?). Anyways - with some experimenting and trial and error, I have found several products that have helped me through this rough time and I thought that I would share it with you.

Vichy Double Glow Peel Mask, Vichy Pore Purify Clay Mask, Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme, Indie Lee- Blemish Stick, Jouviance - Micelle Solution, The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit cleanser, Nip & Fab - Glycolic Scrub Fix, Vichy - Normaderm Purifying Lotion, Poetic Blend - The Hero Oil, Clinique - Pep- start hydroblur moisturizer, canadian beauty blogger, beauty blogger, skincare, toronto blogger, toronto, canada, pimple care, problem skin solution,

P.S. Sorry about the lighting - I tried to adjust it as much as possible but I wanted to take the pictures in my bathroom :) Also, as an FYI, I have oily/combo skin during the summertime.

Everyday Skincare Routine:
1. Jouviance - Micelle Solution - effective at removing all traces of makeup on my face including waterproof eyeliner and mascara.

2. The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit cleanser - I discovered this at The Detox Market - it contains 2% salicylic which is great for combating problematic skin. The one thing though that truly bothered me is the fact that the pump is horribly constructed. The product within is amazing, but it almost congeals and becomes impossible to pump out until I press so hard on it and it bursts out from the nozzle. I would suggest that the packaging be reconsidered perhaps? blah.

3. Nip & Fab - Glycolic Scrub Fix - This scrub is AMAZING! It contains ultra packed with exfoliators that are fine, but you can still feel it on your face, polishing the dirt, dead skin cells and black pores away. It also contains salicylic acid and 3% glycolic acid to refine, brighten and renew.

4. Vichy - Normaderm Purifying Lotion - This is made for oily skin, to mattify it and help to tighten and unclog your pores.

5. Poetic Blend - The Hero Oil - I actually discovered this brand on Instagram and was delighted to know that it was made in Canada. This oil provides relief from inflammation and is ultra lightweight. It contains soothing and calming properties and promotes healing and repair - it's made with all natural and plant-based materials and is vegan friendly. I picked this up and the One of A Kind show, but you can definitely get it on their site - my best friend also bought one and she loved it.

6. Clinique - Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer - I love the non-greasy texture of this moisturizer and it also works to subtly "airbrush" your skin. If you use any of those silicone primers, you will know what I mean - it doesn't perfect your skin or fix the discoloration however, it just helps to blur out any of the large pores etc. I have been able to use this and take out primer on occasion and it does the work just fine :)

Weekly Treatments:
1. Vichy - Double Glow Peel Mask - This product contains tons of Vitamin C, AHA and volcanic stone exfoliation. It is said to address any dullness in the skin and you only leave it on for 4-5 minutes tops. When applied, I actually feel a warm sensation and after I wash it off my face is plump and glowing.

2. Vichy - Pore Purifying Clay Mask - This one has replaced my other clay mask that I like, the one from Origins that I was using for the past few years. I actually see results right away with this, when I apply it on my problem areas (t-zones) it sucks all the gunk and oil out, and when I apply this over my acne pop-ups, it also dries it out. I keep it on for longer than required though, around 30 minutes :)

3. Nip & Fab - Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme - This is used 2-3 times a week and contains 5% glycolic acid, salycilic acid, hyaluronic acid and lactic acid to combat dullness, blackheads, pimples yet leaving your skin renewed and plump. This is a must buy!

4. Indie Lee - Blemish Stick - I have constantly recommended this to my friends and coworkers, it's a spot treatment that works right away and dries out your pimples. It contains..... as you can guess by the common theme by now, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, witch hazel and menthol. This is also a must-buy!
