Review: My Favorite Fall Fragrances of 2018

Perfumes are such a personal touch and when worn can evoke a specific memory or feeling, which is why I typically like to switch things up as seasons change. Perfumes work differently on each person's skin when worn and mixed with your natural body chemistry and oils. In addition, I find that as the seasons change, especially in Canada when we have extreme cold and hot months, fragrances can just smell differently on a cold winters day, a crisp fall day or a hot summer's day. These are the reasons as to why I rotate my staples. To find out what I like to use during fall, then keep reading below - I think that I will actually keep this series going with each season as I do tend to get asked what scents I like.

From left to right:
1. Guerlain - Mon Guerlain* - it is a combination of warm and spicy with notes of Jasmine, Lavender and Vanilla. This is more of a crisp fall day perfume for me as it mellows out the spiciness and warmness of the perfume. I use one spritz of this and it lasts all day.
2. YSL - Black Opium Eau de Toilette* - warm, floral and fruity with notes of Blackcurrent, Pear, Jasmine Tea and Coffee Accord to name a few. A fall evening fragrance for me, especially on date night or going to an event - it's something I wear when I have somewhere fancier to go to. It's sexy, warm and floral with a subtle hint of coffee that brings it all together.
3. NEST - Citrine* - fresh, floral and light with notes of Lemon Blossom, Lotus Flower, Freesia and Precious Woods to name a few. I can wear this everyday - it's light, refreshing and I spray it several times all over and lasts all day.

From left to right:
1. Jo Malone - English Pear & Freesia - I picked this up when I was in Tokyo about 5 years ago and it still smells like it did on day one. Everytime I wear it, I think back to my three weeks in Asia, my whirlwind trip to Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong etc with my husband and parents and it was so much fun. This is actually an any season fragrance but during Fall, I like to layer it with Wood Sage and Sea Salt (below).
2. Jo Malone - Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne - My best friend had gifted this to me a few Christmas' ago and everytime I wear it I think of her.  Together with the English Pear it is such a unique fragrance that I have not smelled on anyone else before.
3. GUCCI - Flora Eau de Toilette - This perfume contains notes of Citrus Accord, Peony, Rose, Osmanthus Flower, Pink Pepper and Sandalwood. It is luxurious, rich yet refreshing and warm. It is not something I smell all the time so I like how unique it is.

What are some of your favorite fall fragrances? Have you tried any of the ones above?

Until next time, XO - M
