This new limited edition collection launch from Urban Decay is SO exciting! It's fun, it's vibrant and it's in collaboration with the artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The pigment of the powder products are buttery, finely milled and packed with color. As you can see from the look I've created, you can see just how bright and fun the shadows can be. Just keep on reading below to see how I've created it - I also paired the eye shadow look with both a neutral lip and a bolder bright purple to just play with the entire color scheme :)
Products used to create this look include:
1. Estee Lauder - The Mattifier Shine Control Perfecting Primer + Finisher*
2. QUO - Matte Revolution Foundation*
3. NARS - Soft Matte Complete Concealer
4. Essence - Eye Kajal Crayon*
7. Too Faced - Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliner (pure white)*
9. Esquido - Laslorette *
12. Urban Decay - Jawbreaker (mega matte)* and Ex-Girlfriend (sheer shimmer)*
THE EYES:
The main focus of this look would definitely have to be the eyes, which is created with the Urban Decay x Jean-Michel Basquiat Tenant Shadow Palette. In order to truly make the colors pop, I first primed my lids with the white kajal from Essence, and then layered STUDIO all over the lid to the brow bone. This gives a primed and smoothed layer to buff out the colors later and for them to blend effortlessly. Next, I applied EXU on the inner third of the lid, making sure to pack it on and build the color slowly. Do not start with alot as fall out occur - when I typically do dramatic looks, I like to do my eyes first, and save foundation/concealer for later. On the middle of the lid, I applied BOOM and on the outer V I applied UNTITLED.
I took a fine tip brush and carved out the outer V with a mix of NEO and LES. Then added a bit of 1960 to blend out NEO and STUDIO to blend out 1960. For the lower lash line, I took NEO on the outer part and 1960 on the inner half. On the inner corner, to add some highlight I used NOW'S THE TIME from the Blush Palette.
To draw the crown on the outer corner, which is a logo you see all over the palettes, I used the Too Faced - Sketch Marker (pure white) and then traced over top with the CLIO - Waterproof Pen Liner.
I finished the eye look with a wing from the Clio liner and then popped on my favorite pair of lashes from Esquido, in the Lashlorette.
THE FACE:
I primed my face with the Estee Lauder, The Mattifier Shine Control Perfecting Primer + Finisher, this ensures that I have a smooth and matte face, that is oil controlled so that there is no sheen to detract from the eye look or highlighter. To cover the panda eye circles, I used my current holy grail concealer which is the NARS Soft Matte Concealer. It's cream based but dries to a powder and is not cakey. Next, I knew I wanted a heavier fuller coverage to create a flawless canvas, so I used the most high coverage foundation I have, the Quo Matte Revolution. I used the Jean-Michel Basquiat Blush Palette next, Jawbone to bronze and contour, X-Rated and NOHO as blush and Now's The Time as a highlighter.
I hope you enjoy the new layout or method of my Makeup Monday post - I decided to use my Sony a5000 that my hubby bought me to just take more detailed shots and to be able to enlarge them for my readers to see.
Until next time, XO - M.
