I have been creating tutorials on the blog here for a while now, but I realized that I have rarely done an all drugstore tutorial. As such, I am going to do a neutral bronzed eye look that's great for everyday and for those of you who naturally gravitate to the brown neutral tones (like me). It's perfect for the office as well, to be honest this is what I typically wear everyday to work. So if you're interested at the products used to create this look, and what I think about them just keep on reading below.

 

ON THE EYES: 

Primer: Essence 2-in-1 Eye shadow & Primer 

Lids: Joe Fresh: Eye Shadow in Pretty Penny (all over the lid), Cacao (outer V) and Cinnamon (in the crease to blend out any harsh lines

Brows: Essence eyebrow designer in 02 Brown 

Brow Wax (to set the brow pencil) : Joe Fresh - Universal Brow Crayon

Lashes: Essence - The False Lashes Mascara in Extreme Volume + Curl

Lips: Bold One is Hard Candy - Wet Ever in Ambitious / the neutral everyday one is Joe Fresh - Lychee

THOUGHTS:

The primer is cream-based and dries to a powder finish - it is actually one of the best drugstore lid primers I've ever tried. The eyeshadows come out a lot pigmented and stays put. For the shadows, Joe Fresh has always produced reliable and quality ones - there hasn't been one that I've tried that I didn't like. As for the mascara, if you like a wet formula, then you will really like this. It really thickens the lashes and makes them look full and dense. I do not have any falsies on in the look, but you can actually see my lashes (which is very rare). The brow pencil is great - it has a very firm tip that stays fine and gives you very realistic hair strokes - I can use it to fill in both my brows and it hasn't worn it down to the point where it requires sharpening again. I also fully appreciate a good brush at the cap to spread out the product. The Joe Fresh universal brow wax sets the brows in place, as well as the colors that were placed on with the brow pencil - it also helps to keep the hairs in place. 

On the lips - I am in LOVE with the Hard Candy high gloss lip lacquer - it looks beautiful, it doesn't bleed and it's gorgeous and hydrating. I would like to get these in more colors. The one that is more natural, is a tinted balm from Joe Fresh. It is equally hydrating and is one of those lip balms you can put on without having to look in a mirror. 

ON THE FACE:

Primer/Moisturizer: Vichy Normaderm - Skin Balance Anti-oiliness hydrating aquagel

Foundation: Avon True Color Ideal Nude Liquid Foundation with SPF 20 in Creamy Natural

Concealer: Wet n Wild' Light Medium

Contour: Wet n Wild Megaglo dual-ended Contour Stick

Highlighter: Joe Fresh - Highlighter Stick - Pink Pearl

Blush: L'Oreal Paris - Infallible Paints Pro Artist Blush Palette (230) ~ I used the pink tone on the far right

Setting Powder: Essence - Color Correcting Mattifying Powder

THOUGHTS:

The Moisturizer is a clear gel that dries to a complete finish and is absorbed quickly. It has a very light fragrance to it that dissipates after about 20-30 minutes. It contains Salicylic Acid which is perfect for oil control as well as for those who requires a moisturizer that is good for acne-prone skin.  The Foundation is a medium coverage one - it does dry to a bit of a tacky finish. The colors are a bit hard to match though, I was sent 3 of them and still I was in between two colors. The concealer is a medium coverage concealer - I like it, but I think I still like the foundation a bit more, this reminds me of the NARS radiant creamy concealer The Contour Stick I still love, it's grey-toned and blends out well and does the job. The highlighter stick is extremely pigmented and high shine, It performs similarly to the Benefit Watt's up except its less than half the price. The L'oreal Blush Palette is a sheer to buildable color and is impressive for a drugstore palette, I have recommended this to lots of friends and will take it on travels with me, the packaging is sleek and compact. Lastly the color correcting powder, I mean I don't really see the color correcting component to it, but it does help to mattify the face. It helped to take away the tackiness of the foundation. 

 

This look, with the change of lipstick color can easily take it form a day to night look! Being a beauty blogger, I love that I am able to be sent some products to experiment and try out for review, that I may not normally have the chance to before. This always leaves me feeling surprised and happy that I can find cheaper alternative to my current products I buy from higher budget brands.
