My skin was absolutely freaking out on me the last few months due to the stress incurred from some stuff happening at work as well as the big move. I felt like I was hitting puberty all over again and was getting pimples popping out everywhere (so attractive eh?). Anyways - with some experimenting and trial and error, I have found several products that have helped me through this rough time and I thought that I would share it with you.
P.S. Sorry about the lighting - I tried to adjust it as much as possible but I wanted to take the pictures in my bathroom :) Also, as an FYI, I have oily/combo skin during the summertime.
Everyday Skincare Routine:
1. Jouviance - Micelle Solution - effective at removing all traces of makeup on my face including waterproof eyeliner and mascara.
2. The Body Deli - Sage & Grapefruit cleanser - I discovered this at The Detox Market - it contains 2% salicylic which is great for combating problematic skin. The one thing though that truly bothered me is the fact that the pump is horribly constructed. The product within is amazing, but it almost congeals and becomes impossible to pump out until I press so hard on it and it bursts out from the nozzle. I would suggest that the packaging be reconsidered perhaps? blah.
3. Nip & Fab - Glycolic Scrub Fix - This scrub is AMAZING! It contains ultra packed with exfoliators that are fine, but you can still feel it on your face, polishing the dirt, dead skin cells and black pores away. It also contains salicylic acid and 3% glycolic acid to refine, brighten and renew.
4. Vichy - Normaderm Purifying Lotion - This is made for oily skin, to mattify it and help to tighten and unclog your pores.
5. Poetic Blend - The Hero Oil - I actually discovered this brand on Instagram and was delighted to know that it was made in Canada. This oil provides relief from inflammation and is ultra lightweight. It contains soothing and calming properties and promotes healing and repair - it's made with all natural and plant-based materials and is vegan friendly. I picked this up and the One of A Kind show, but you can definitely get it on their site - my best friend also bought one and she loved it.
6. Clinique - Pep-Start Hydroblur Moisturizer - I love the non-greasy texture of this moisturizer and it also works to subtly "airbrush" your skin. If you use any of those silicone primers, you will know what I mean - it doesn't perfect your skin or fix the discoloration however, it just helps to blur out any of the large pores etc. I have been able to use this and take out primer on occasion and it does the work just fine :)
Weekly Treatments:
1. Vichy - Double Glow Peel Mask - This product contains tons of Vitamin C, AHA and volcanic stone exfoliation. It is said to address any dullness in the skin and you only leave it on for 4-5 minutes tops. When applied, I actually feel a warm sensation and after I wash it off my face is plump and glowing.
2. Vichy - Pore Purifying Clay Mask - This one has replaced my other clay mask that I like, the one from Origins that I was using for the past few years. I actually see results right away with this, when I apply it on my problem areas (t-zones) it sucks all the gunk and oil out, and when I apply this over my acne pop-ups, it also dries it out. I keep it on for longer than required though, around 30 minutes :)
3. Nip & Fab - Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme - This is used 2-3 times a week and contains 5% glycolic acid, salycilic acid, hyaluronic acid and lactic acid to combat dullness, blackheads, pimples yet leaving your skin renewed and plump. This is a must buy!
4. Indie Lee - Blemish Stick - I have constantly recommended this to my friends and coworkers, it's a spot treatment that works right away and dries out your pimples. It contains..... as you can guess by the common theme by now, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, witch hazel and menthol. This is also a must-buy!
I hope my skincare routine is able to help any of you out who may be having a similar skin issues as me!
Until next time, XO - M.
