Riversol Skincare Review*

Around 2-3 months ago I was contacted to try out a few products from a Canadian Skincare Brand called Riversol, created by Dr. Jason Rivers a board-certified dermatologist in both Canada and the US. A little background, as posted on their site -:

"After over 30 years of experience in clinical dermatology, Dr. Rivers was increasingly apprehensive about recommending existing products to patients with sensitive skin. A majority of sensitive skin care products on the market contained ingredients and fillers that can cause unwanted reactions in those with sensitive skin. Most of those products were filled with dyes, fragrances, sulfates, or formaldehyde. Dr Rivers used his experience as a clinical professor and a program director of dermatology at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine to begin formulating ideas on how he could better serve his patients. The demand for more efficient skin care from people with sensitive skin was evidenced by the growth of his cosmetic dermatology practice. As the Vancouver-based practice grew into the largest of its kind in Canada, the need for a better option for sensitive skin care was validated. Today, Dr. Rivers has published more than 135 articles and book chapters and is often invited as a key speaker to present on both medical and cosmetic dermatology topics at international symposia."

Being a beauty blogger, I have the wonderful opportunity of being able to test new beauty and skincare products on quite a frequent basis from various different companies. What brought me to want to try the products from Riversol, was the fact that it was developed for sensitive skin and also that it was Canadian - yay!

Please continue reading if you would like to read more about my thoughts on this skincare line.

The products came neatly packed as pictured below - clean and sleek. Inside, it also contained a few info cards about the brand, and the products you receive.

Foaming Gel Cleanser

I do not believe that you are able to buy the Foaming Gel Cleanser separately as I cannot locate it on their site. This cleanser's consistency reminded me alot of the Spectro-gel formula. This product is unscented, gentle and doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped and damaged afterwards. The two things that I didn't like were: 1) The dispenser, as it is a thick gel consistency, using a squeeze bottle type tube doesn't give me the control I need to deliver the product. It either comes out in a giant blob or it takes a while to squeeze it out. I would have liked it better if it was a pump bottle. 2) The scent - although it is unscented, the smell of the product was really strange, I'm not sure if it absorbed the plastic container's scent? but I wasn't a fan. I won't be repurchasing this product - I really don't feel a difference in this cleanser then others I've used in the past.

Loved this product! The pump bottle was great, it allowed for hygienic application of the product and I really enjoyed the results I got from this. This anti-aging serum is said to be powered by 10x the Vit C than Riversol's other serum formulations. It helps to restore the skin's natural radiance and help combat fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration and other signs of aging I would thoroughly have to agree that it helps to restore the skin's natural radiance. My skin had a dewy plumpness and looked glowing. In addition, I experience oily skin and have enlarged pores, and this helped to balance out my skin. My T-zone was less oily and it felt firmer. In addition, I wasn't feeling the need to use a pore filling primer either - so I would most likely re-purchase this product in the future, however not immediately as I am always trying out new skincare.

This product is said to be recommended for people with dry skin. It helps to repair your skin's moisture barrier while relieving irritation/inflammation and improves your radiance and texture. This moisturizer almost has a whipped like consistency (as seen in the picture below). It is light-weight, not heavy but you can feel how moisturizing it is. It helped with the dry patches I had on my face and worked well to bring back radiance and plumpness to my face. I really enjoyed this product, and like the serum I most likely will repurchase in the future (not right now).

Overall, I really did enjoy the 3 products sent to me, I am looking forward to trying out more skincare products from this line as I can see from their online reviews that it does really well. I also really appreciate the fact that this is a Canadian Brand.

Until next time, XO - M.
